Dr. Stanford Blade is the Deputy Director General – Research and Innovation at ICRISAT, where he works to advance sustainable agriculture and improve livelihoods in dryland regions across Asia and Africa. He previously served as Dean at the University of Alberta and held leadership roles at IITA and Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions. A graduate of McGill University and The Wharton School,

Dr. Blade is internationally recognized for contributions to global agriculture and innovation have earned him several prestigious honors, including the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and recognition as an International Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.
