Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has advocated for healthier eating habits by encouraging people to consume local, seasonal, and traditional foods. She highlighted the value of balanced Indian meals that include millets, pulses, vegetables, fruits, curd, milk, and moderate amounts of ghee, emphasizing that such diets provide essential nutrition and support overall wellbeing.

She also stressed the importance of maintaining a colourful and diverse thali, explaining that a variety of foods helps supply the body with different nutrients necessary for energy, immunity, and good health. According to her, proper nutrition plays a vital role in building healthier families, especially for women and children.

Drawing from her experiences growing up in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana reflected on how simple home-cooked meals prepared with fresh local ingredients contributed to a healthy lifestyle. Her message aligns with the growing awareness around sustainable eating practices and the revival of nutrient-rich traditional grains like millets, while promoting the idea of “eat local, eat seasonal” for better health and sustainability.
