The CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) has invited farmers, startups, food processors, and entrepreneurs to utilize the advanced facilities available at its Centre of Excellence on Millets and Incubation Centre (COEMIC) to promote millet-based enterprises. The initiative supports the national mission of strengthening millet processing, value addition, and entrepreneurship by providing access to modern food-processing infrastructure without requiring significant capital investment.

COEMIC offers comprehensive processing solutions covering the entire value chain, from cleaning and grading raw millet grains to producing consumer-ready products. The centre includes dedicated facilities for processing minor millets, sorghum (jowar), pearl millet (bajra), and finger millet (ragi), along with roller flour milling units capable of handling commercial-scale production.

The centre also provides advanced value-addition technologies, including flaking, extrusion, and baking facilities, enabling the production of millet flakes, breakfast cereals, ready-to-eat snacks, bakery products, and other innovative foods. These facilities are designed to help entrepreneurs develop market-ready millet products while expanding business opportunities in the growing healthy foods sector.

To encourage wider participation, COEMIC has introduced a limited-period promotional offer providing free facility access for eligible first-time users. The initiative is expected to strengthen India's millet processing ecosystem, support startups and MSMEs, and accelerate the commercialization of value-added millet products.
