Shubham Tiwari from Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh has built a successful millet-based business with the help of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. His company, Granoxy, focuses on producing nutritious food products using traditional millets like kodo and kutki. Over time, the small venture has expanded to different cities including Shahdol, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, while also finding customers in international markets.

Shubham faced difficulties early in his career after being declared colour-blind, which affected his job opportunities despite clearing recruitment exams. Instead of giving up, he decided to start his own business in the food processing sector. With financial assistance and guidance provided through the PMFME scheme, he established millet processing and bakery units that now produce a variety of millet-based foods such as cookies, pasta, pizzas, sandwiches, and other healthy snacks.

Today, his enterprise is seen as an example of how government support and local entrepreneurship can help promote millet-based industries and create employment opportunities in rural areas. The business has provided jobs to many local people, especially women, while also encouraging consumers to adopt healthier food choices. Shubham’s success story highlights the growing demand for millet products and the increasing popularity of traditional grains in modern diets.
