Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar, has strengthened its efforts to improve the availability of high-quality pearl millet hybrid seeds by partnering with a private seed company.

The collaboration is designed to expand the multiplication and distribution of improved hybrid varieties, enabling more farmers to benefit from high-yielding, climate-resilient seed technologies.

The initiative will help accelerate the adoption of advanced pearl millet hybrids developed by the university, improving access to certified seeds across millet-growing regions.

By involving private sector partners in seed production, the university aims to ensure wider dissemination of improved cultivars while maintaining seed quality standards.

Researchers believe the expanded seed supply will support higher productivity, strengthen farmers' resilience to changing climatic conditions, and contribute to sustainable millet cultivation.

The partnership also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between research institutions and the seed industry in delivering agricultural innovations to farming communities.
